Dyeing yarn!

In knitting class last week, Heather was able to dye yarn. This was a great, fun experience for her and I am impressed that her teacher took it on with a whole class! The yarn was soaked in water and vinegar and then they squirted the dye onto sections, squeezing and turning as needed to cover well. This is Heather's finished project! I think they are making hats from this yarn.

Teaching Will

Heather was knitting today and Will asked if he could learn. I was so proud of her for volunteering to teach him and working patiently with him for as long as he wanted. What a fine, talented young lady she is becoming!

A fun project

Heather finished her school early yesterday and spent the afternoon making masks out of paper plates, tissue paper and popscicle sticks. She had lots of fun.

Heather baked a cake!

Heather baked a cake all by herself last night! I approved the recipe, but she did all the measuring, mixing, baking, slicing and serving. She wants to make another one to take to church for a meal on Sunday. I am proud of her!
